NEW MATCHING SERVICE AVAILABLE
TO CANCER PATIENTS
Cancer Patients Matched With Survivor
to Foster Hope and Determination
KANSAS CITY – If you’re battling cancer, wouldn’t it
help to know you’re not alone? Thanks to a new guide that specializes
in cancer treatment and survival, it’s now possible for the thousands
of patients fighting cancer to connect with others who have survived their
same diagnosis.
The new guide, Patient Resource: A Cancer Treatment and Facilities Guide For
Patients and Their Families is available at physician’s
offices around the country beginning April 1, and is free of charge.
It’s a revolutionary new way of educating cancer patients, and is
considered to be the only single-source, user-friendly comprehensive
treatment guide available to those in need.
“No matter how loving or supportive
your family, friends, and medical team are, they can’t understand
what you are feeling quite like those who have walked in your same
shoes,” says Linette Atwood, Patient Resource publisher and cancer
survivor. “It’s so important to realize that nearly ten million
people are alive today following a diagnosis. Cancer is no longer a death
sentence.”
In fact, says Atwood, these survivors were
once newly diagnosed and fearful, but with successful treatment they have
returned to health. They researched, they fought, and they survived. How
they did so is often helpful to another person making the same journey.
As such, Patient Resource Publishing is
providing a Patient Matching/Mentor Service upon request. The program
matches newly diagnosed cancer patients with others who have survived the
same type of cancer. Although the direction of a person’s treatment
is ultimately their own decision, the mentor program can put patients in
touch with a supportive cancer survivor eager to share their own story.
Atwood says it’s as simple as
logging on their website at www.patientresource.net
and clicking on the icon for Patient Mentor Program.
“This unique service will reignite
hope and brighten the spirit for everyone fighting cancer,” Atwood
adds. “And that positive attitude is a key step to long-term
survival.”
